Dreamwidth works in China??

Hi everyone! After working remotely as a school librarian for a few months, I was able to get a visa and travel to China. The school gave me a VPN, but before getting to campus I had to quarantine for two weeks in a hotel and any attempts at using the VPN got me kicked off of the WiFi. That meant I had a lot of time to experiment with the Great Firewall.

Thanks for the update! Also, so weird? It blocks AO3? You’d think that one would be safe.

Ao3 was only blocked this past february -- some fans put together a mass report brigade bc they were upset about RPF slash so it got blocked

It's so frustrating that they had to ruin it for the rest of us! I ended up reading vintage fic on ff.net and livejournal while I was in quarantine :D

Ok I just finished reading the transcript and I had no idea that the show would inspire fans to be so nasty. Whether you have problems with AO3 or not, this is too intense.

It's a little alarming that idolatry is so rampant. I thought I hated stan culture in the US but this is on another level.
